The Korean Association for Photonics
Industry Development was established(KAPID) on May 13, 2000 to
develop the photonics industry, and cultivate and promote its
related industries.
Korean government also nominated the photonics industry as
a strategic industry in the 21st century and has scheduled to
provide extensive investments in Gwangju for the photonics industry.
The Plans are being progressed systematically for nurturing
Gwangju city as the integrated complex of Korean Photonics Industry.
With the active support from the government, KAPID was established
as an industrial association which is going to do active business
in international exchange programs on technology, cooperative
projects, domestic and overseas promotional activities and research
and development on behalf
of member companies and the industry.
And also provide information about world photonics market trends
through Photonics Information Center completed during the photonics
development project phase I and attract other photonics enterprises
into the photonics cluster in Gwangju.
We will help stimulate a demand for LED products by using the
LED sign, lighting system as our business model and make agreements
for the exchange of technology and human resource institutes,
associations and integrated industrial complexes in advanced
countries in photonics.
